Half of the main bombs of ROKAF have faulty fuses

About half of the Mark 82 and Mark 84, which are the main bombs used by ROKAF, were found to have faulty fuses, making the bombs blank shells. The 20,000 Mark 82 and 84 are 80% of the air ammunition of ROKAF, but most were acquired around the late 1960s and thus have deteriorated fuses. A reliability test of DTaQ in 2009 found that only 11 out of 20 successfully exploded, and although a similar test of MND last year found the bombs to be reliable, the tests were based on samples, thus raising the possibility of a substantial problem.
