KAI T-50 advanced trainers to be exported to Thailand

The Thai government is said to have selected the KAI T-50 advanced trainers as their training aircraft. Four T-50s will be sold to Thailand under the contract worth about KRW 100 billion. The Cabinet of Thailand approved a budget of about KRW 125 billion for the acquisition of four trainer aircraft to replace the Czech Aero L-39, which has been manufactured over 30 years ago. Firms from the US, China, Russia, and Italy are said to have competed for the program, with the Chinese Hongdu L-15 as the final candidate against the T-50.
