ROK President Park Geun-hye emphasizes peace in the Korean Peninsula throughout visit to UN

ROK President Park Geun-hye has finished her visit to New York to participate in the United Nations summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda and the 70th United Nations General Assembly. Throughout the visit, she gave keynote speeches for both events, held talks with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-mun, and participated in numerous events. Among the many issues raised during the events by POTROK, the issue of nK provocations was highlighted the most as the ROK President called for the nK participation in talks with other nations and for the abandonment of nuclear weapons and missiles.
In addition, POTROK also briefly met with Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo for a few minutes, and although there were no significant remarks, the two expressed their anticipation of upcoming summits between the two nations and with China. As preparations are being made for the ROK-China-Japan summit and the ROK-Japan summit, this brief meeting raised interest in the meetings to come.
