Weapon agent said to have illegally participated in acquisition of ROKN maritime operations helicopter

Allegations have been raised that DAPA neglected regulations which restrict weapon agents from participating in weapon acquisitions worth over USD 2 million during the acquisition of the ROKN maritime operations helicopter. National Assembly member Baek Kun-ki stated that a weapon agent firm took part in the acquisition of the first batch of ROKN maritime helicopters. DAPA stated that the firm was a consultant and was not directly involved in the contract, but the statement was refuted when documents from the manufacturer of the “Wildcat” specified the firm to be a “trade agency.”
